T O P I C R E V I E Wkr4mulaOk, this is for fun, not for collecting...My 2-year old has recently become obsessed with rockets ("blastoff!" is his new favorite word). He has several plastic toys, but I've thus far been unable to find a stuffed/plush rocket that would be ok for him to sleep with. I'm interested in something that does NOT make noise (squeaky, electronic launching sounds, etc.) since he's a light sleeper. Does anyone have any suggestions? Google wasn't too helpful and I don't (or really he doesn't) want the "Little Einsteins" rocket.Mr MeekThe KSC Visitors center has plush shuttles in a variety of sizes (and prices, natch). They have some of the shuttles online, here: Large | SmallThere's also a super extra large one (that's probably taller than your son) for $100+, but it's not in the online store.E2M Lem ManInteresting find - I went into a SUPER Kmart and found a beautiful plush rocket and plush planet Saturn. They are a part of a bedroom set. They have (sold separately) blankets, sheets, pillowcases, blinds and the plushes. Who needs the kids?kr4mulaThanks for the suggestions! I'll check out the local K-Mart and if that doesn't work out, go with the shuttle.tegwilymI bought a few of those fuzzy shuttles on my last trip to KSC. I have one hanging on the wall in my cubicle a work. They aren't too bad either, not totally out of proportion!Jay ChladekHmmm, maybe I should get one for stress relief. Have you hugged your plush shuttle today? kr4mulaWe have a plush shuttle that makes a launching noise among my son's regular toys, along with a shuttle bath toy and astronauts. He was able to pick astronauts out in books and pictures (suited ones, anyway) before he could identify firemen and other uniformed workers. Maybe by the time he's old enough, we'll finally be going back to the Moon or Mars!Robert PearlmanNot a rocket or space shuttle, it was still great to see that Hugg-A-Planet Earth and Hugg-A-Planet Mars have made it aboard the International Space Station:Hospitalized as a child for major abdominal surgery, Hugg-A-Planet Mars filled a very important role as the pillow I would, well, hug to apply pressure to my stomach when it hurt most during recovery. I still have that Mars, though the modern version of the planet pillow is larger and probably more detailed a map.tegwilym...and if you get cold on a winter night, wrap yourself in a Galactic quilt!
